1987
Sampark founded at Raipuria in Jhabua district as a unit of Social Work and Research Centre (SWRC), Tilonia, Rajasthan

1987-90
Local youth involved to understand area’s problems; awareness generation and development activities begin; padyatras launched; gram koshas established; tribals’ traditions involving ‘no money’ sought to be re-established; ‘attack’ on social evils like bride price, high spending death feasts, rakhi pratha, etc

1990
Sampark registered as a society. The founder Nilesh Desai awarded National Youth Award by the then Prime Minister, Mr VP Singh

1991-96
Learning phase involving reflection and consolidation of experiences. The work expanded from original 13 villages to 28 villages

1997
Long term planning formulated and intensive developmental work done

2000
Internal review of the works of organisation done. Emphasis on rights based work and active participation with like-minded network

2004
Buniyadi Shala started at the organisation compound
