Bhopal, 17 October. On the occasion of the World Food Day, hundreds of citizens took out funeral procession of BT brinjal and cremated the same in Bhopal and three other cities of the country.

During the demonstration held at NITTT campus, the demonstrators staged a cage on the stage. The cage had a human dressed like a mice requesting I am not a Guinea Pig and do not try genetically modified food on me as this was very harmful for me. Genetically modified food led to loss of vision, respiratory problems, abscess in intestines, kidney failures, etc.

Hundreds of farmers signed the protest letter to be sent to the Union Health Minister Ambumani Ramdoss. The letter demanded immediate ban on genetically modified foodgrains.
