Nilesh Desai is a renowned social activist who has worked on various issues in Jhabua, one of the most backward districts of Madhya Pradesh, for several years. He is the founder-director of Sampark Sanstha and has worked extensively in the fields of agriculture, environment, health, education, and child rights.
His work in agriculture has spread across the country, and he has been advocating for the use of indigenous seeds and indigenous traditions. Leading magazine ‘The Week’ awarded him the ‘Man of the Year’ award in 2018.
Nilesh Desai is also the founder of Rashtriya Jal Biradari and the convenor of Beej Swaraj Abhiyan in Madhya Pradesh. He was awarded the National Youth Award by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in 1988-89.
Devilal Vyas is a seasoned social development expert with over 40 years of experience. Holding a Master’s in Economics and a Diploma in Mass Communication, he founded Jan Vikas Sansthan, Rajasthan. With 20 years as Principal of Shri Sai Academy, Ratlam, she has revolutionized teaching by simplifying Math and English, making learning engaging for children. Her expertise lies in pedagogy and innovative teaching methodologies.
Ms. Nirmal Ben, a Sociology graduate, has dedicated 30 years to empowering women in tribal areas of Panchmahal, Gujarat. Her tireless efforts have focused on improving women’s and children’s health. In recognition of her remarkable work, the Government of Gujarat has honored her for her outstanding contributions. With a deep understanding of societal dynamics, Ms. Nirmal Ben has made a lasting impact on the lives of countless women and children, inspiring positive change in her community.
Prakashali Desai, Principal of Buniyadi Hagayr Secondary School, is a visionary educator and social reformer dedicated to empowering tribal children. With 30 years of experience, she has transformed education and healthcare outcomes for marginalized communities. A postgraduate and B.Ed. in Science, Prakashali is renowned for making learning engaging, accessible, and fun. Her expertise spans life skills education, school management, and conflict resolution. A passionate advocate of Gandhian philosophy, she excels in creative writing, oratory, and effective communication. Her outstanding contributions to tribal education and healthcare have been recognized with the prestigious Youngmen’s Gandhi Association Champaben Gondhiya Award.
Tejaram Mali, a visionary social reformer, has dedicated his life to education, women’s empowerment, and sustainable development. Inspired by Tilonia’s night school in the 1980s, he founded Manthan Sanstha in 1998. His work in water conservation, digital literacy, and leadership development has transformed lives, earning him the prestigious Mother Teresa Award and other accolades.
Additionally, he is a sociology graduate with 20 years of experience in social development, focusing on the rehabilitation of orphans and beggars in Ratlam city.
Vinod parmar completed his Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from the Indore School of Social Work, Indore, in 1985, specializing in Labour Welfare. This academic grounding equipped him with a deep understanding of industrial relations, workers’ rights, and welfare mechanisms within organized labour settings.Early in his career, he put this specialization into practice at Grasim Nagda, one of India’s major industrial units, where he worked extensively on labour welfare initiatives. His efforts there were directed towards improving the working conditions, social security, and overall well-being of factory workers, reflecting a strong commitment to grassroots labour issues within an industrial context.Over time, Vinod parmar transitioned from industrial labour welfare to broader community-based social work. He is currently engaged in social work in Khargone district, Madhya Pradesh, where he continues to contribute to community development and social welfare efforts.
