Sampark’s reproductive health and malaria prevention program addresses both cultural stigma and medical inaccessibility affecting tribal women. Cultural practices such as ghunghat often prevent open conversations on reproductive health, leading to high incidences of reproductive tract infections (RTIs) and anaemia—issues that affect nearly 45% of women in the region.
To break these barriers, Sampark organizes open health camps and workshops featuring gynecologists, encouraging both men and women to participate. Through 118 trained dais and 118 Swasthya Sahelis, the program has facilitated 2,400 safe deliveries and immunizations for 7,230 women, ensuring maternal and newborn health coverage even in remote villages.

In adolescent health, over 1,200 girls have received training in sexual health, hygiene, and nutrition. As a result, 30% have adopted sanitary pad use, and 50% consume iron tablets regularly, leading to reductions in anaemia and improved menstrual hygiene practices. Counseling and awareness have also promoted family planning and breastfeeding practices.
Malaria prevention has been a major component. Sampark’s awareness campaigns reached 150 villages, covering 30,100 households and a population of over 201,000. The organization distributed mosquito nets to school children, which led to 10,471 families purchasing nets independently, demonstrating behavior change. Regular health camps in 56 villages provided screening and treatment, improving access to timely care.

Education about malaria was integrated into SHG meetings, school programs, and community forums. These efforts resulted in enhanced community knowledge and practices around vector control, contributing to a reduction in seasonal malaria spikes.
By combining health service delivery, education, and community-based monitoring, Sampark has created a resilient, decentralized healthcare network that addresses both reproductive and infectious diseases while empowering women as frontline health advocates.
