Role of "Sampark" Organization During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Pandemic Relief & Learning

During the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sampark Sanstha carried out impactful interventions in the tribal regions of Jhabua, Alirajpur, Khargone, Khandwa, and Burhanpur districts. The organization focused its collective efforts on education, health, livelihood, and social security, ensuring timely relief and community-based recovery.

In the field of education, to prevent learning loss among children, the organization supported the “Hamara Ghar Hamara Vidyalaya” and Digi-LEP programs. Through online classes, worksheets, book distribution, and neighborhood-based learning (Mohalla Classes), education continued for over 10,125 children in 1,245 schools. Additionally, through the Camp Vidya initiative, 3,851 children were taught Hindi and Mathematics in an engaging manner. For adolescent girls, Life Skills Games were conducted, through which 3,235 girl leaders were developed.

In community participation, orientation sessions were conducted with 5,838 members from 1,452 School Management Committees (SMCs) to educate them about their roles and responsibilities. Online sensitization on menstrual health was organized with Team Balika, and webinars on social security schemes engaged over 100 community stakeholders.

In terms of relief and health support, the organization distributed food kits, masks, and sanitizers to over 12,600 vulnerable families. Public awareness campaigns through wall writing, hygiene training, and community meetings were conducted to inform people about COVID-19 symptoms, precautions, and safety measures.

For livelihood and agricultural support, the organization provided subsidized Kharif Crop Seed Kits to 1,425 farmers with the facility of payment in three interest-free installments. This helped small and marginal farmers from Alirajpur and Jhabua districts to timely sow their crops.

In summary, Sampark Sanstha played a significant and multifaceted role during the COVID-19 crisis by addressing education, livelihood, health, and community empowerment needs in a holistic and impactful manner.
